Marriott has opened a hotel under its Moxy brand in Bristol.
Located opposite Cabot Circus, the 214-room hotel nods to its location with street art design throughout. The team have worked with Bristol-based social enterprise Bricks to incorporate bold pieces of public artwork into the hotel.
The lobby, for instance, features a commissioned artwork by painter and sculptor Bo Lanyon which depicts the city’s St Paul’s Carnival. There are additional works by artists including Lawrence Hoo, Charles Golding, Lucas Antics and Dr Myles-Jay Linton which celebrate the St Pauls and St Jude’s areas, Bristolian sayings and the Bristol Suspension Bridge.
Check-in takes place at Bar Moxy, where guests will receive a complimentary cocktail, and the hotel also offers several workstations, a quieter library space, and a gym.
Rooms have been designed to maximise on storage and space, with cabin luggage able to fit beneath the platform bed. All rooms include USB-C connectors,European standard plugs, and 42-inch Chromecast TVs.
General manager Melih Yanik commented:

This marks the 15th hotel for Hotel Co. 51, the operations company for Moxy Bristol.
Marriott launched the Moxy brand in 2013, with the first hotel opening in Milan the following year. The millenial-focused brand currently has around 100 properties across North America, Europe and Asia Pacific, with recent openings including Moxy Glasgow SEC.
