Marriott has added its first Luxury Collection hotel in Colorado’s capital Denver.
Hotel Clio in the city’s Cherry Creek district has undergone a multi-million-dollar transformation of the property’s lobby, public spaces, guest rooms and suites ahead of joining the collection.
The 199-room hotel features interior design inspired by “the story of William Green Russell striking gold at the confluence of Cherry Creek and South Platte River”, with “subtle gold accents complemented by rich earth tones”.
Hotel Clio’s check-in area features marble floors, custom art pieces a grand stone fireplace, and “brass accents highlighted with custom table lamps designed to emulate the look of a gold miner’s lamp”.
Facilities include Toro Latin Kitchen and Bar offering a Pan-Latin menu, as well as a refurbished fitness centre with Peloton Bikes and Hydrow Rowers, and 10,000 square feet of function space including two ballrooms.
There are currently 19 Luxury Collection properties in the US, including The Hythe in the Colorado town of Vail.

Last month Marriott announced that The Westbury hotel in London – which had previously traded under the Luxury Collection portfolio, would be reflagged under the group’s St Regis brand following renovation.
