IHG Hotels and Resorts has opened the latest US property under its boutique Hotel Indigo brand.
Hotel Indigo NYC Downtown – Wall Street is situated on Water Street, just around the corner from New York’s iconic Wall Street, and is the second property under the brand in Manhattan, joining Hotel Indigo Lower East Side New York.
The property offers 127 rooms with design elements including gold accents, rich leathers, reflective surfaces, plaid detailing inside wardrobes as a nod to the “Wall Street uniform”, and an abstract interpretation of an interior oyster shell above headboards – “an ode to the neighbourhood’s historic days when tradesmen shucked and shared oysters with bankers, politicians, stockbrokers, lawyers and socialites”.
Facilities include signature ground-floor restaurant Buttonwood (named after the 1792 Buttonwood Agreement), serving dishes including Matzo Ball Soup and Truffle Grilled Cheese, and the 25th floor Highwater Rooftop cocktail bar.
IHG currently operates 130 Hotel Indigo properties worldwide, with another 114 in the pipeline, including a hotel in New York’s Flushing neighbourhood which is scheduled to open this year.
The brand recently added properties in the US destinations of New Orleans, Nebraska and Colorado.
