Four Seasons has opened its second property in San Francisco, located in the city’s financial district. The former Loews Regency San Francisco has undergone renovations and will now be managed by Four Seasons.

Four Seasons Hotel San Francisco at Embarcadero occupies the top 11 floors of the 48-storey 345 California Center building on Sansome and California Streets, located twenty minutes from San Francisco International airport.

The luxury hotel’s 155 rooms and suites all have panoramic views of the city and interiors have been redesigned by studio Marzipan. Rooms feature bright colour palettes, bespoke furnishings and custom-designed hand-tufted wool rugs, while bathrooms have freestanding bathtubs. The hotel also pays homage to the city’s gold rush history, with threads of gold woven into the wallcoverings.

Many floors also have a Sky Bridge with floor-to-ceiling windows on both sides, allowing guests to spot landmarks including the Golden Gate Bridge and San Francisco Bay. The 48th floor features an ‘Eye Spy from the Sky’ activity, a playful twist on the ‘I Spy’ game, and there’s a state-of-the-art fitness centre on the 39th floor.

The property also offers new two-bedroom Embarcadero suites with spacious, studio-style layouts, which the hotel is marketing as suitable for those looking to work remotely from the hotel during the pandemic. Services such as in-room dining, printing, extra chargers and cables, and tech support will be available on demand.

The hotel plans to open a new street-level restaurant showcasing Californian produce and world-renowned wines, and an open-air Sky Deck on the 40th floor in 2021.

Christian Clerc, President of Global Operations at Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts, commented on the opening:

“As our California collection continues to grow, we are proud to expand our presence in one of America’s top destinations, giving locals and travellers alike another unique opportunity to stay with Four Seasons in this great city.

“With soaring views, fully reimagined guest rooms and suites, and an ideal location near some of the city’s most popular attractions, we look forward to welcoming guests to our new luxury experience in San Francisco.”

Robert Megargle, the hotel’s general manager, added:

“We are thrilled to welcome our first guests and to write a new story in Four Seasons history. Whether you’ll be leisurely enjoying a stay with us or here for new business, our team is here to be your extended family and to share in your San Francisco experiences.”

The new hotel is located just a few blocks from the city’s original Four Seasons on Market Street in the SoMa district.

The luxury hotel group recently opened its first Spanish property in Madrid, and also announced plans to add properties in Sicily and the Mexican coastal destination of Tamarindo.
